The international superstar Chayanne and multi-platinum recording artist Alejandro Fernandez will not only take the stage to perform on this night, but will also be the recipients of two very special awards for their Artistic Excellence and Career Achievement, respectively. In addition, the award- winning singer and actress, Thalía will be this year’s recipient of the “Young Artist Legacy/Jóvenes con Legado Award” and will also perform a medley of her hits.

Other artists and Premio Lo Nuestro nominees scheduled to appear as performers or presenters are Arcangel (“New Artist of the Year”, Urban Genre), Eddy Herrera (“Tropical Merengue Artist of the Year”, Tropical Genre), El Chapo de Sinaloa (“Album of the Year”, “Male Artist of the Year” and “Banda Artist of the Year”, Regional Mexican Genre), German Montero (“Male Artist of the Year,” Regional Mexican Genre), Hector “El Torito” Acosta (“Male Artist of the Year”, “Tropical Traditional Artist of the Year”, Tropical Genre), Jorge Celedon and Jimmy Zambrano (“Group or Duo of the Year”, “Tropical Traditional Artist of the Year”, Tropical Genre), La Arrolladora Banda el Limon (“Group or Duo of the Year”, “Song of the Year”, and “Banda Artist of the Year”, Regional Mexican Genre), Luis Fonsi (“Male Artist of the Year”, and “Song of the Year”, Pop Genre, “Entertainer of the Year” and “Collaboration of the Year”) , Luz Rios (“Female Artist of the Year”, Regional Mexican Genre), Melina Leon (“Female Artist of the Year”, Tropical Genre) and Tati (“New Soloist or Group of the Year”, Pop Genre).

Rounding-up the roster of superstars are Mexican artist Ana Barbara and salsa music sensation Victor Manuelle who will host “Premio Lo Nuestro 2010″.

Additional performers and presenters will be announced shortly.

Premio Lo Nuestro, the highest-rated special each season among Hispanics in the United States, bestows awards annually to the winners from the five most popular Latin music genres – Pop, Tropical, Regional Mexican, Rock and Urban – and Video of the Year. The upcoming awards gala will also include a new and first ever “Entertainer of the Year” (Artista Premio Lo Nuestro del Año) category, as well as a new “Collaboration of the Year” (Colaboracion del Año) which includes artists from all genres.

Nominees were selected from charts compiled by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS), the world’s leading provider of airplay tracking for the entertainment industry for the time period of October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2009. Winners are determined by popular vote. Last year’s edition of Premio Lo Nuestro a la Musica Latina set a new audience record reaching 12.5 million viewers who watched some or all of the broadcast. It also delivered more Hispanic viewers than the combined audiences of the 2009 editions of the Academy Awards(R), Golden Globes(R), Emmy(R) Awards and MTV Video Music Awards(R).

Univision.com is the exclusive digital destination of this year’s Premio Lo Nuestro. Fans have already voted for their favorites and are now coming back to www.premiolonuestro.com for the latest leading up to this highly anticipated show. The website features videos, interviews and trivia of this year’s performers and continues to engage users with one-of-a-kind features, including a video upload section where users can post their “acceptance” speech for their very own “Premio Lo Nuestro” Award.
