Thalía is suffering Lyme Disease
After being bitten by a tick, both the singer and her mother contracted the disease, in which they suffer from fatigue and skin rashes.
Singer Thalía contracted Lyme disease, which is transmitted by ticks. Fortunately, it was discovered quickly, and the singer, as well as her mother, Yolanda Miranda, were able to receive antibiotics in time.
Al rojo vivo (Telemundo), confirmed that the 37-year-old Mexican was bitten by a tick in her home, outside of New York City, and a few months ago, while nursing her baby girl, she felt very fatigued, and went in for a medical exam.
In most cases, the bacteria behind this malady, which is called Borrelia Burgdoferi, is usually found in wild animals, and when the ticks bite human beings, the disease can be confused for simply a skin rash. If treatment is not sought immediately, the disease can severely affect the nervous system, sometimes leaving a victim paralyzed.

Rumor: Thalía will appear in Ugly Betty
There are news circulating around that Thalía will be appearing in the current (third) of the season American hit remake Ugly Betty, a remake of the Colombian hit telenovela Betty la Fea. It is also said that Thalía already signed a contract to the series produced by her compatriot Salma Hayek.
Other popular celebrities appeared in the series were Lindsay Lohan, Victoria Beckham and Naomi Campbell.
Ugly Betty is the American version of the popular Colombian soap opera Betty la Fea that captured many audience by its positive message of which beauty inside is more than the physical beauty.

Thalía celebrated Hispanic Heritage (updated)
The Mexican actress visited and honored the NYPD police station before receiving an award from organization Casita María.
The New York Police Department (NYPD), were in for a treat when they were recently visited by Mexican singer Thalía visited the Manhattan precinct as part of the festivities in celebration of Hispanic heritage month.
During the visit, the “Ten Paciencia” singer, 37, talked to the boys in blue and recognized their tireless effort in helping to keep the city safe. She also took various pictures with them and signed autographs.
After the event, the wife of Tommy Mottola was honored at a party organized by Casita María, which is dedicated to help impoverished immigrant communities. At the Mandarin Oriental in New York, the singer received the gold medal of honor for her humanitarian work and her contribution in maintaining Hispanic culture alive in the U.S.
Touched by the honor, the singer thanked the organization and mingled with the other invited guests, including Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008, and Pepita Serrano, president of the International Society of Mexican Artists.
